Do We Have To Inflict Political Lies on Our Children?
It is easy to understand that conservatives want to imbue our kids with their values, and, even though I don’t share those values, I don’t have a huge problem with that.
What I find objectionable about Mike Huckabee’s “Kids (sic) Guide To Fighting Socialism” is its amazingly brazen dishonesty.
The majority of Americans favor taking the top marginal tax rates back to where they were before Reagan lowered them from 70% to 28%. These times were good for a thriving middle class, before it dwindled to the point that most of these formerly comfortable families are now living paycheck-to-paycheck.
Conversely, no one wants to open our borders and abolish private
property; nor do any of the people hate America.
Here’s the problem: our children are impressionable, and, at these tender ages, they are incapable of distinguishing legitimate political philosophy from complete bulls***.
I understand that Huckabee is a liar. But can’t he leave our children out of this?
