Some Things Just Don’t Make Sense

Internet search engines are modern miracles for clearing up areas of confusion, big or small.  For most of us, Google is our dictionary, thesaurus, encyclopedia, and real-time news channel, where YouTube is our online university and movie theater.

Maybe it’s just me, but there are certain things I just can’t get through my head, and I find myself looking up the same subject again and again, because it doesn’t seem to stick.

One of these pesky items is how and why certain Republicans stand behind Putin in his cruel and blatantly illegal invasion of Ukraine.  Tucker Carlson says he doesn’t understand why anyone cares what happens in Ukraine, and why it’s disloyal to root for Putin.

What type of disgusting person, American or not, would say this?  Carlson claims, to a large and adoring audience, that our country, whose government is of, by, and for the people, would be a better and safer one if an authoritarian butcher is left alone (actually encouraged) to take over a neighboring democracy by murdering innocent civilians.  Does this make any sense to anyone?

Here’s a video that attempts to explain this.  You might want to bookmark it; if you’re like me, you’ll need to watch it many times if you have any chance of retaining its content.
