Occasionally readers comment on the wide range of subject matter here at 2GreenEnergy: science, math, politics, philosophy, economics, sustainability, and so forth. I hope they think that’s a good thing.
Here’s a post on absolutely nothing other than an effort to make you smile. Please check this out:
Former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirshner routinely makes some excellent points on his video series “Justice Matters.” Yesterday’s installment (see below) was particularly on point, IMO, in dealing with an issue I’ve discussed many times: the injustice of the prosecution of the insurrectionists. My question is this: Why in hell is Fox News inviting one of our country’s most intelligent and articulate spokespersons for progressive causes on their network?
Great idea. Let’s try to skewer Pete Buttigieg on live camera and see how that goes.
I don’t attribute too much capacity for deep reasoning to Fox, but this was just plain stupid.
The common and most obvious response to this question is no. Neither you nor I broke any laws today, and we’re not asking for commendations.
Of course, neither of us had a large mob of armed, angry people, spurred on by the President of the United States, hunting for us throughout the Capitol Building, hoping to find us and hang us.
I believe that when this is over, history will note that Pence was a pivotal figure in preventing the destruction of American democracy on January 6, 2021.
“Build Back Better” isn’t getting a great deal of attention these days, given the current-day divisive issues:

• From everyone else: There will be justice for those who orchestrated the J6 insurrection, or the United States will cease to exist as a democracy based on rule of law.
That said, it’s only a matter of time before we can get back to some meaningful discussion about infrastructure. Of course, even when we do, that conversation will be split in half politically.
As suggested in the meme above, look for the right to promote the use of fossil fuels, and to protest anything that provides benefit for the people and the planet on which they live.
A reader notes: Judge Carson all but plugged Bannon’s mouth with an apple and the pig is so ready for roasting.
We can only hope. Some people speculate that he’s ready to turn on Trump. I find that impossible to believe, especially since it would be hard to do without incriminating himself.
Even that notwithstanding, he’s very closely aligned philosophically: do whatever is necessary, regardless of how grossly illegal (let alone unethical) to stay in power, so as to demolish the U.S. government.
We’ve all had the impulse to provide serious answers to rhetorical questions. An old friend who lives in the central part of Texas, where afternoon temperatures are hovering close to 100° F, sent me the meme here and asked, “Who opened the gates of hell?”
The answer, of course, is the human civilization as a whole did, when it failed to respond to scientists’ warnings about the consequences of burning fossil fuels. (more…)
