California’s Drought Has Been Hard on Crops, Excellent for Fraudulent Clean Energy Ideas

Fraudulent Clean Energy IdeasA woman from the Los Angeles area contacted me the other day about the all-new “wind car.”  I had hoped to see something interesting, but no, it was as I feared: a chassis on wheels with a battery and the fan on top that supposedly charges the batteries.  She directed me to the fellow who’s raising investment capital to build and sell the idea, and he told me, “It’s not good that electric vehicles have a limited range.  You can drive this to New York.”

He hung up angrily and immediately when I pointed out that this is nonsense.  “You do understand that what you’re saying is complete bull****, right.”

But I chose to write back to his assistant Christine:

Craig:  Before you get involved personally, I strongly suggest that you take this concept to a physics teacher at your local high school and learn more about the viability of this basic theory.

Christine:  I saw the prototype and its test drive. There is a video for it. If the existing theory can solve the green energy issues, there will no need to improve the e-car technology. If you cannot be open-minded to accept new knowledge, how can you be an angel to support invention and new technology? What you do not know does not mean it does not exist.

Fraudulent Clean Energy IdeasCraig:  You can believe what you want to believe, but there is no truth in this whatsoever.  Obviously, you can charge the batteries from an external source, and then run it around until the batteries discharge.  Until that point, you can shoot movies off it, ride in it, use it to deliver pizzas—anything you want.  The fan positively will not charge the batteries, in fact, it will discharge them faster.

Anyone active in raising money to forward this idea is involved or engaged in criminal fraud. In the U.S., people go to prison all the time for stuff like this (though the concepts are usually a bit more sophisticated). The reason I wrote to you was to try to protect an innocent person from harm. What you do with my help is up to you.
