Ocean Thermal Energy Corporation — Leading the Way in a Critically Important New Technology

Next Wednesday, I’m headed into the local television studio that we use to make our videos, to shoot several short pieces introducing different clean energy technologies and the companies that I believe to be likely winners in the marketplace. One such technology, previously under-represented here at 2GreenEnergy, is OTEC (ocean thermal energy conversion).

OTEC is generally regarded as leading edge, in that it lags PV and wind by several decades in terms of R&D. Yet it holds huge promise. Close to a billion people live in tropical, equatorial climates near oceans, the surface water of which contains far more energy than those billion could possibly use; OTEC is a clever and potentially inexpensive way of extracting that energy. Not only can this energy be used for electrification, as a replacement for dirty fossil fuels, but iy can also desalinate ocean water, bringing clean drinking water to people for whom this is a scarce commodity.

My client, Ocean Thermal Energy Corporation, is a leader on OTEC development, with pilot programs in both Hawaii and the Bahamas. I look forward to helping them tell their story to an investor base that I believe will be thirsty for results.

Great stuff, Craig. I just wanted to post some more info on the Bahamas project. It’s truly revolutionary stuff, and nations are really taking notice. OTEC will proved the islands with endless clean power and the only byproduct is millions of gallons of clean drinking water.

    Here’s the info…
