In CleanTech or Anywhere Else, Good Investments Never Need Promotion
I admire people who write directly and concisely, like this columnist for Yahoo Finance whom I quote below.
I post this not only to applaud the fellow’s lucid prose, but also to make a point of relevance to the numerous cleantech investors who happen to check out 2GreenEnergy from time to time. It deals with micro-cap stocks whose executive teams manufacture encouraging (though clearly false) news about their projected success and the fact that their stock price can’t fail to rise.
About a certain stock in particular, the guy writes:
(Based on the disclaimer), we know who is sponsoring and profiting from this scam. It is existing shareholders who want to sell. I can tell you with certainty that you should not buy this, and that if you own it, you should sell it. There is one significant party that implicitly agrees with that assessment — the company itself, which issued shares at a price of ten cents per share in 2014, according to the recent 10-Q, if you look at the balance sheet and cash flow statements.
And here’s the take-away, clear as a bell, something all investors should bear in mind:
Avoid all situations where stocks are promoted. Good investments never need promotion.
